So what's the deal with the 'Dust Brothers'
you might ask yourself. Well the 'Dust Brothers'
mentioned as remixers on the UK release of the Voodoo
People single are nowadays known as the Chemical
Brothers. When Tom and Ed of the Chems started working
together they took the name to honor their idols, the
legendary US hip-hop producers 'The Dust Brothers'.
However when they began to make it big they got a note
from the US 'Dust Brothers' saying that they would take
legal action if they did not change their name so since
then they are known as 'The Chemical Brothers'. Their
remix is slightly changed on the US release of the
single, since one sample wasn't leagally cleared it's
scrambled. Voodoo People reached no. 13 in the UK charts. |
